Guidelines for Cybersecurity in the Workplace

Secure Devices and Networks: Ensure operating systems, firmware and applications are all up to date, with security patches. Implement an antivirus and anti-malware solution on all company devices. Secure the company Wi-Fi network with strong encryption and use a VPN for remote connections. Never leave laptops unattended.

Defend Against Phishing and Malware: Don’t click suspicious links or attachments in emails and advise employees of best practices for online security. Enforce unique passwords and enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for company accounts.

Protect Data and Access: Grant employees only the minimum access level required to do their jobs. Use secure file-sharing platforms for collaboration. Avoid sending sensitive information via email. Back up data regularly!

Remain Vigilant: Encourage employees to report any suspicious activity. Carry out periodic security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and risk control measures. Develop a robust incident response plan to manage and mitigate cyberattacks.
