Therefore, it is important that if you are using skincare products or makeup you follow appropriate health and safety measures – such as the ones listed below:  

• Before using a new product, perform a skin patch test and leave it for 24 hours before using the product all over your face. 

• Read and understand the ingredients that are used in your products to identify any possible allergens or irritants. 
• Always follow and check the expiration dates of all products and do not use products that have expired. 
• Maintain good hygiene when using products on your skin. Wash hands regularly to avoid infection. 
• Sanitise tools and makeup brushes regularly to prevent bacteria buildup. 
• If you experience irritation or an allergic reaction, stop using the product and if necessary, seek medical attention. 

• Avoid sharing makeup or skincare products, especially those with a pipette or dropper that goes directly onto the skin to avoid cross contamination of bacteria.  
• Store products in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. 
• Thoroughly cleanse and remove makeup off of your face before sleeping to avoid breakouts of infected pores and irritation.  
• Research if certain products are safe to use together before using more than one product at once.
