Please see Safety Guidelines for Home Workers below:
Maintain proper posture: Sit upright with your back straight, feet flat on the floor, and knees at a 90-degree angle. Avoid slouching or hunching over your computer screen.
Adjust your chair: Ensure your chair provides adequate back support and is adjustable to fit your height and arm length. Keep your elbows bent at a 90-degree angle and wrists straight while typing.
Positioning your screen: Place your computer monitor directly in front of you, about an arm’s length away. The top of the screen should be slightly below eye level.
Take regular breaks: Take short breaks every 30-60 minutes to stretch, walk around, and rest your eyes. Avoid prolonged periods of sitting.
Use appropriate equipment: Invest in or speak to your employer regarding the policy on provision of ergonomic accessories like a wrist rest, an external keyboard and mouse, and a standing desk converter to further enhance your workspace comfort.
Electrical safety: Ensure all electrical cords are properly secured and out of the way to prevent trip hazards. Do not overload outlets or use damaged cords or equipment.
Stay connected: Maintain regular communication with your team and manager. Use video conferencing, instant messaging, or email to stay updated and collaborate effectively.
Avoid distractions: Minimise distractions during work hours. Turn off notifications, silence your phone, and inform others in your household that you are working.
Establish work boundaries: Set clear boundaries between work and personal life. Avoid checking work emails or messages outside of work hours to maintain a healthy balance.
