University Safety Office Lab Safety Symposium
iProtectU was proud to deliver an overview of its integrated compliance software to students and staff at the University Safety Office Lab Safety Symposium, hosted at the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI).
The three-day event brought together experts, academics, and industry leaders to explore the latest developments in laboratory and workplace safety.

On Day One, iProtectU presented its innovative compliance platform, demonstrating how universities and research organisations can manage health, safety, environmental, and quality obligations through a single, cloud-based system. The session provided an introduction to:
Accessing the Trinity iProtectU application via secure Microsoft SSO
Core modules, including incident reporting, risk assessments, fire safety, and contractor management
User dashboards for learning, development, and reporting
Infrastructure and security features, highlighting ISO 27001 certification and AWS-backed resilience
The presentation emphasised how iProtectU supports students, researchers, and staff in managing compliance with ease, clarity, and confidence.

Symposium Agenda Highlights
The symposium provided a comprehensive programme covering critical aspects of lab and workplace safety:
Day One: Legislation updates, safety management systems, iProtectU’s software demonstration, SafeZone, LabCup, emergency procedures, and breakout safety scenarios.
Day Two: Lab safety management, chemical hazards, good laboratory practices, gas and cryogenic safety, hazardous waste management, and practical sessions.
Day Three: Biological safety (agents, exposures, genetic modification, blood and decontamination practices), radiological safety (X-ray, sealed/unsealed sources, EPA legislation), and practical assessments.
The event also provided an oppurtunity to meet with other contributors to the symposium.
