Construction CDM and Event Safety Software

Plan, assess and evidence compliance with RAMS, CPP, F10, actions and audits in construction and events

iProtectU Construction CDM software centralises construction project and event safety to CDM. Plan works, manage CDM roles and duties, gather contractor information, complete RAMS and CPP, and evidence compliance with automatic logs, actions and dashboards on web and mobile.

Terminology used

CPP

In CDM regulations, the formal term is Construction Phase Plan (CPP). Sometimes shortened to CP or “Construction Plan”.

What it is: A live document that sets out how health and safety will be managed during the construction phase. This is created using the iProtectU module.

Who prepares it:

  • Principal Contractor (PC) on multi-contractor projects, or
  • Contractor on single-contractor projects.
It must be in place before construction starts and kept up to date.

What it covers (proportionate to the project): roles and responsibilities, site rules, inductions and welfare, emergency arrangements, coordination with designers/contractors, and control measures for significant risks (e.g., traffic, services, work at height, excavations, lifting, asbestos, etc.).

All of which are covered within the iProtectU Project and Event Management module.

F10

Is the official Notification of a Construction Project to the HSE (Health and Safety Executive).

When you must notify (a “notifiable” project):

  • The work lasts longer than 30 working days and has more than 20 workers on site at any one time, or

  • Exceeds 500 person-days of construction work in total.

Who submits: The Client (often done by the Principal Designer on the client’s behalf) via the HSE online portal.

What happens next: The F10 must be displayed on site and updated if key details (client, PD, PC, dates, etc.) change.

In iProtectU, the CPP can be built from templates with an audit trail, and the F10 can be generated and updated from the project record, making CDM evidence simple to manage.

SAG

A Safety Advisory Group is a multi-agency forum convened by a local authority to advise event organisers on public safety.
It’s not a licensing body, but its recommendations often inform licence conditions or road orders.

Who sits on a SAG?
Local Authority (chair), Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance/NHS, Highways, Public Health, Licensing, Emergency Planning, sometimes Transport, Security, and the Event Organiser.

When is a SAG used?
For medium/large public events or any activity with elevated risk (crowd densities, traffic disruption, fireworks, sports, parades, multi-day festivals), or when requested by the authority.
